Experience

I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens and adults in a variety of settings such as hospitals, schools, ministries and community based programs.

With a school social worker background, I have experience working with children and families in various types of schools to support children and teens as they navigate social-emotional development through a 504 or IEP plans.

I also have experience working with adults, families, couples and children through faith and ministry settings offering individual counseling, pre-marital counseling, as well as family and parent support.

I offer several years of experience having worked with children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, behavioral and emotional challenges, developmental and cognitive delays, social skills, and family issues.

Therapeutic techniques used to treat anxiety have included but are not limited to the following: play therapy, talk therapy, exposure therapy and CBT types of therapy. These therapies have helped in building rapport and creating a caring environment in which children can safely process and explore feelings.  Throughout therapy, my goal is to work with a strengths-based, solution-focused perspective, to promote growth and empowerment.

Specialties

I approach working with children through a variety of therapeutic play-based models and techniques. I love having fun, engaging with humor and promoting a safe, welcoming space for clients. I offer children, adolescents and adults a safe and empathic place to share their hurts and explore paths to healing.

Specialties include the following:  child therapy in both clinical setting and school setting; experience offering play-based, exposure, CBT, talk, strength-based and solution focused therapeutic treatments. I also specialize in faith-based therapy for children, teens and adults when specifically requested by client.

I have experience working with not only children but offer experience with supportive counseling of teens and adults, couples and families using the same therapeutic modalities as listed above, when appropriate to client need.

How I Help

I offer a therapy setting that includes patience, kindness, and respect for your family. My own journey has given me perspective that helps create a stable, welcoming environment for children, adolescents and adults of all ages. It is an honor that you would allow me to be apart of your journey; as well as those parents who allow me to be a part of their child’s journey; I take joy in helping them grow in their own way! My approach to therapy and helping clients is fun and play-orientated, yet direct and provides guidance towards independence.

More About Me

In my free time, you will find me with my husband and four active kids. My faith and belief in God is very important to me, and has always been a focal point of my life. As a family, we love spending time outside, going on hikes or bike rides, watching movies and traveling to explore new places! I enjoy exercising, running, cooking, laughing, and reading in my spare few minutes.
