Experience

Before and after raising my kids, I spent 15 years working in the human service and education fields. I have worked in various settings, including adult residential group homes, an inpatient mental health hospital, schools, and in-home care services for seniors. I have had experience working with people of all ages and special needs, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I am passionate about working with individuals and couples with various issues such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life stressors, relationship issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and personal growth.

Specialties

My counseling approach focuses on the following techniques: person centered therapy, solution focused therapy, Gottman and emotionally focused therapeutic couples techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness therapeutic approaches. I serve clients from adolescence through elderly adulthood. Offering individual, family and couples therapy.

How I Help

I believe clients start to heal the moment they feel heard. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting space for clients to be seen, heard, and understood. My approach is gentle and encouraging, which will support you in your health and healing journey. I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities mentioned above to help you heal and achieve your goals. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is supportive, safe, collaborative, non-judgmental, and empowering. I advocate for making self-care a priority and encourage clients to treat themselves the same way they would their best friend.

More About Me

I enjoy spending time with my husband of 27 years, my 3 beautiful adult children, and our yellow Lab. Even though I love being at home, I also enjoy visiting new places, especially ones with ocean fronts. I enjoy decorating and organizing my home or other people’s spaces. I love shopping, cooking, baking, listening to music, reading, and keeping active with family and friends. Faith is a significant part of my life, and I draw inspiration from church, prayer, and devotional readings.
